Privacy Policy

This policy explains how we handle your personal data when you contact FORTE. If data is transmitted to FORTE using a contact form provided, it is not possible to guarantee confidential data transfer. FORTE will respond to such contact electronically, in which case the confidentiality of the data transmitted again cannot be guaranteed.

1. Who we are

The FORTE website is maintained by the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (Fyzikální ústav AV ČR, v. v. i., Na Slovance 1999/2, 182 00 Praha 8, IČ 68378271).

2. What we collect

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect and store your name and email address — nothing else.

If you contact us through the form, we collect in addition your query information.

We collect your If you contact us voluntarily, your contact data is included in a separate database that is not linked to the anonymised log files. You can cancel your registration at any time by contacting us in this regard.

3. What we do with it

We use your email address to send you the requested answer or FORTE newsletter. We won’t share it with anyone or use it for any other purpose. The newsletter is sent through Ecomail, a Czech email marketing platform that processes your data on our behalf under a Data Processing Agreement in accordance with the GDPR. Your data stays within the EU.

4. How long we keep it

Newsletter: For as long as you’re subscribed. When you unsubscribe, your data is removed.

Contact form: The form data is retained until your query is resolved plus an additional three months, and deleted after this passes.

5. How to unsubscribe or contact us

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every newsletter. Under the GDPR, you also have the right to access, correct, or delete your data — just email us at gdpr@fzu.cz.
